You need to log in to your Mintel account to view all of our expert analysis and data to answer your business questions, and to see all articles available for you on our Help Center. Your organisation is set up for one of three different ways to log in – keep reading to learn how how each of them works.
💡 Tip: Don't have a Mintel account yet? Read this article to learn how the registration works.
Log in with your email address
Most people log in to Mintel or Comperemedia with their email address. Follow the steps below to do so, after logging into your company's internal system.
Open portal.mintel.com in your browser and enter your email address, then click on Next.
Log in with a password
In most cases, we'll ask you for your password after you submitted your email address. Once you've entered your password, click on Log In. Now you can access our insights and data, plus our full Help Center.
💡 Tip: Forgot your password? Learn how you can reset it here.
Log in when your company has been enabled for SSO
If your company has been enabled for single sign-on (SSO), you don't have to fill in a password to have access to Mintel or Comperemedia websites. Instead, you would already be recognised by our system based on the domain that is part of your email address, such as @mintel.com
.
After you've entered your email address, we might redirect you to your company's internal system to authenticate. Once you've successfully authenticated, you'll be sent back to our website, where you can now access our insights and data, as well as the full Help Center.
💡 Tip: Some organisations also have a direct link to Mintel or Comperemedia on their intranet to give you even faster access. If that's the case, you can just click on that link and don't have to do anything else to use our solutions.
📌 Note: When you log in with SSO for the first time, you'll be redirected to a page with Mintel's conditions of use. After reading through the conditions, tick the box at the bottom of the page and then click on Continue to acknowledge the conditions and access our website.
Log in via IP address authentication based on your location
IP address authentication (IP Auth) is a method of identifying and authenticating you that uses your organisation’s IP addresses. This is commonly used at large companies and it needs to be set up in agreement between Mintel and your organisation.
To access Mintel content from an organisation that's enabled for IP Auth, follow a link to Mintel from your organisation's internal system. Alternatively, type in clients.mintel.com in your browser's URL bar after signing in to your organisation's internal system.
You will be redirected to a page with Mintel's conditions of use. After reading through the conditions, tick the box at the bottom of the page and then click on Continue to acknowledge the conditions and use Mintel's solutions.
📌 Note: You'll be asked to re-confirm the conditions of use after 30 minutes of inactivity on our websites, even if you haven't logged out.
💡 Tip: If you access Mintel via IP Auth, by default you won't be able to do some things that require an email address, such as setting email alerts, saving searches, or building custom presentations. For that reason we recommend setting up a profile. Once you've created a profile, you can log in with your email address and password as described above.
Log in as a student or at a public library
If you're a student at a university or a user at a public library that has a Mintel subscription, your university/library likely has a custom login page for Mintel and other partner pages. You can access to Mintel from that page either via the Shibboleth single sign-on (SSO) system or via IP Authentication.
Use Shibboleth SSO
The Shibboleth single sign-on (SSO) system allows you to authenticate yourself with your student ID and password. After logging in to your university's internal system, check for a link to Mintel in the system and click on it to access our website.
💡 Tip: If you can't find a link on your internal system, visit clients.mintel.com and then click on Need federated login? ➡ Login here on the login page. Then type in the name of your university in the search bar, select the right item from the list, and then click on Continue.
On your university's login page for Mintel, enter your student ID/email and password. Just confirm, and you'll be redirected to Mintel, where you can now access our content. If you have trouble using the federated login, please contact your university's library staff for help.
📌 Note: When you log in for the first time, you'll be redirected to a page with Mintel's conditions of use. There, tick the box at the bottom of the page and then click on Continue to acknowledge the conditions and access Mintel content.
Use IP address authentication with a proxy
IP address authentication (IP Auth) is a method of identifying and authenticating you that uses your university’s/library's IP addresses. You can usually access Mintel – even when you're not on campus or at the library – by using a proxy such as EZproxy. This access method needs to be set up in agreement between Mintel and your university/library.
To access Mintel content from a university or library that's enabled for IP Auth, follow a link to Mintel from your organisation's internal system. Alternatively, type in clients.mintel.com in your browser's URL bar after signing in to your organisation's internal system.
You will be redirected to a page with Mintel's conditions of use. There, tick the box at the bottom of the page and then click on Continue to acknowledge the conditions and use Mintel's solutions.
If you have trouble accessing Mintel from your university or library system, please contact your university's/library's staff for help.
💡 Tip: If you access Mintel via IP Auth, by default you won't be able to do some things that require an email address, such as setting email alerts, saving searches, or building custom presentations. For that reason we recommend setting up a profile on Mintel. Once you've created a profile, you can log in with your email address and password as described above.
